These salmon
are truely the King in both size and as food fish. They
start out in fresh water. Within a year of hatching
they head for salt water and may stay in the ocean as
long as 5 years, often growing to 50 pounds or more.
Salmon are the "homers" of the fish world,
returning to the streams of their birth. These were born
and later caught in the Skagit River, in the State of
Wash. |
